Tigers Rugby Football Club’s Alumni Side got out to a 27-3 halftime lead, then drove on to a well balanced 53-10 victory to start their first official Division III season at Dicks Sporting Goods Park on Saturday, August 27th. The Tigers first D III home match will be held at North Arvada Middle School on September 24th.
Holy Family wrestling coach and theology teacher, Matthew Gear, scored 3 tries to highlight the victory over the Denver Wolverines. Broomfield HS Boys Basketball Head Coach and history teacher, Terrence Dunn, worked well with Flyhalf Mike OBrian, scoring 2 tries each. Bobby Kemp returned to Tigers Rugby Football Club after a 5 year absence, and scored two tries to make up for lost time in the 53-10 victory.
Conversions, kicked after tries were handled by Michael OBrian, who made two of 4 attempts, and Bobby Kemp also went 2 for 4.
The Tigers Men’s side progressed well in the past 2 years to establish a deep, strong and fast backline, which got clean ball from the forwards all day.
The Tigers play their first home match at North Arvada Middle School on September 24th at 1 pm against the Colorado Rush RFC.
