Tigers Rugby Alumni Side took on Boulder Rugby RFC’s Division I B side on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Glendales Infinity Park. Though the Tigers jumped out to an early 7-0 lead on Bobby Kemp’s extra effort, 5 minutes into the match, Boulder RFC regained the lead on the last play before halftime, 14-7, then took the Tigers over in the second half, with a 26-7 final tally. Mike O’Brian advanced the ball well with his foot and converted the first try. Despite the consistent rucking efforts by the Tigers, and opportunities provided by dropped Boulder passes, the Arvada/Broomfield club could not capitalize late in the match to close the gap.
Tigers Rugby Football Club closed out their pre-season with a 1-1 record, as they prepare for their first USA Rugby Division III league match, which will be played at North Arvada Middle School on September 24th (1:00 PM Kickoff).
