After traveling to Fort Collins on 9/11/2010 for a 61-6 shellacking by the Flamingoes, Tigers Rugby Football Club regrouped on 9/26 for a 46-19 victory over Denver Wildfire RFC today at Cook Park in Denver. The Tigers took a commanding 34-0 lead at halftime. A Wildfire comeback of sorts bolstered by 2 Tigers Rugby subs and 3 Boulder RFC players, allowed everyone to be on the field for the entire second half. Player-Coach Mike O’Brian, celebrated their 1st (Zulu!) Tigers Rugby Alumni try (and his first since high school). Both squads experienced valuable learning opportunities in this, the first of two scrimmages scheduled between them this fall.
Everyone is invited to train with Tigers Rugby Men’s Club (AKA Tigers Rugby Alumni). Tigers Rugby has been granted a permit for Thursday nights at Zerger Elementary School at 9050 Field St. beginnning at 5:00 pm through October 30, 2010.
